Overview

This is a 1/4-inch brass female quick-connect socket for pressure washers — the receiving half of a standard 1/4" quick-coupler pair. Snap a matching 1/4" quick-connect plug into it and you can swap guns, lances, nozzles, and hose sections in seconds instead of wrenching threaded fittings on and off. Solid brass construction resists corrosion and stands up to repeated connect/disconnect cycles. It's a common replacement piece: if the socket on your gun, lance, or hose end has a worn collar or leaking O-ring, this is the part you swap in. Pair it with 1/4" plugs to build out a quick-connect setup on any machine still running threaded connections.

Yes, if your equipment uses standard 1/4-inch quick-connect fittings — this brass female socket accepts any standard 1/4" quick-connect plug. Check the size stamped on your existing fitting or measure it; 3/8" quick connects are also common and are not interchangeable with 1/4".

The socket is the female half of a quick-connect pair — it has the spring-loaded collar and accepts the male plug. To make a connection you need one of each: this socket on one side and a matching 1/4" plug on the other.

Most commonly at the end of the gun or lance, where it holds quick-connect nozzles so you can change spray tips in seconds. It's also used on hose ends and wherever you want a tool-free connection point in a 1/4" line.

Replace it when it leaks at the connection, the collar won't lock the plug in firmly, or the plug is hard to seat. Worn internal O-rings and a fatigued collar spring are the usual failure points, and swapping the socket restores a tight, drip-free connection.
