Overview

The 22533A is a safety relief valve rated to 5000 PSI (345 bar) at 10 GPM (40 L/min), with a 3/8 in. inlet and a 160°F (71°C) design temperature. Its job is to protect your pump and plumbing by relieving the system when pressure climbs higher than normal — it's typically set 15–20% above the machine's normal operating pressure. Once pressure falls back below the set point, the valve automatically re-seats and the system runs normally again. Note that it's built to cycle this way only a limited number of times, so if it's discharging regularly, find and fix the cause of the overpressure — usually an unloader or nozzle issue — rather than relying on the valve. At 0.3 lbs, it's a compact, easy add to most pump plumbing.
